WE STAY UNITED BY HUMBLY VALUING OTHERS & THEIR INTERESTS ABOVE OURS & FORGIVING EACH OTHER.
Philippians 2:1-11 - 1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Ephesians 4:29-32 - 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Matthew 18:21-35 - The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant - 21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. 23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt……………….. 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. 35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”
Psalm 133:1 - How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
Here’s What I Want us To Do this Week
1. Ask God to Show you a Recent Time you’ve been Selfish & put Yourself or Your Interests, above another Brother or Sister in Christ’s, & Hurt Them by what you Said or Did. Humble Yourself. Ask God’s Forgiveness & Their Forgiveness, & Make it Right.
2. When have you Recently been Hurt by what another Christian Brother or Sister Said or Did to You or Someone you Love? In God’s Presence, say, “Father God, I Choose to Forgive them from My Heart, just as you have Forgiven Me. I let go & put them in your hands.”
Ask the Holy Spirit to Lead You, & If Possible, go Talk to the person about it & work towards Reconciliation. Forgiveness Let’s Go of the Debt you feel they Owe you & Puts them in God’s Hands – They Don’t Owe you Anymore. If you find you are still Holding it against them at Times, Pray the Prayer above EVERY Time it Comes to your mind. Eventually you will FEEL FREE.
