Awesome Majesty and Incredible Mercy, 11-30-25, Worship Pastor Harold Velasquez, New Hope Christian Church
God is both majestic enough to create the stars and merciful enough to count the hairs on our heads.
Point 1 – The Majesty of God’s Glory
Psalms 19:1-6 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.

Point 2 – The Fear of the LORD
Psalm 19:7–8 7 The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is pure,
enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.
But then David says something powerful:
9 the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true,
and righteous altogether.
Proverbs 9:10: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom….”
Charles Spurgeon said - “He who fears God has nothing else to fear.”
Point 3 – Fear Not
Luke 12:4-7 4“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
Matthew 13:41-42 41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Romans 2:5–6 — “Because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. He will render to each one according to his works.”
Billy Graham - “If there were no hell, the cross would have no meaning. The greatest act of love in history would have been unnecessary.”

Verse 17 says. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Conclusion – The Fear That Leads to Freedom
Call to Salvation
Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.
Proverbs 28:14 "Blessed is the one who always trembles before God, but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.”
