FAMILY VALUES 5 - TRUTH, 2-2-25
ey Verse - Matthew 12:50 – “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” – Jesus
John 1:14, 16-17 - 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son (Jesus), who came from the Father, full of grace and truth………… 16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Truth – (Greek) – alētheia (ä-lā'-thā-ä) – In Reality, In Fact, Certainly. Free from Falsehood or Deceit (Lies).
John 18:37 - “You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
John 14:6 - Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 8:44 - You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
John 10:9-10 - 9 I (Jesus) am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Ephesians 6:11-14 - 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place…
John 17:17 - Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. (The Bible is God’s Word!)
John 8:31-32 - 31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Here’s What I Want us To Do this Week
1. Ask God and a Christian friend to reveal to you what Lies you have been believing, and list them on a piece of paper. Ask God to show you in His Word the Bible, the Truth about each of those things, (Google What does the Bible say about your Lie & then Look up the Verses) then write a verse or 2 of Truth next to each Lie you’ve been believing. Then ask God to set you Free from each Lie and help you to Believe and Live Out the TRUTH instead!
