FAMILY VALUES 3 - GRACE, 1-19-25

Key Verse - Matthew 12:50 – “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” – Jesus

John 1:14-17 - 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth…………….  16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Grace – (Greek) – charis  (khä'-rēs) – Good Will (“I want the best for you!”), Loving-Kindness & Mercy, Favor, Undeserved Gift or Benefit, Flowing From God to us, Grace Results both in Salvation & Growth into Christlikeness.

Galatians 4:21-5:26 – (2 Covenants:  Old Covenant - Law = Flesh = Slaves, New Covenant – Grace = Spirit = Free!) *2 Covenants cannot mix – are Opposites, can’t Cohabitate or Co-exist at same time! Live in one or other, Not both! 

Ephesians 2:3-10 - 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Acts 20:24 - However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

James 4:6 - But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” 

2 Corinthians 12:7-9 - 7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Jude 1:4 - 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

Here’s What I Want us To Do this Week

1. Reach Out Right Now through Faith & Humbly Receive & Use the Free Grace Gift God is Offering to Save you or to Empower you to Live Godly! Do the Exact Same Thing at Any Moment you are Struggling in the Future! 

2. Pass On God’s Grace in Practical Tangible Ways to at least 3 People this week, by showing them “goodwill, loving-kindness & mercy, favor, or undeserved gift or benefit.”   

3. Continue to work at Memorizing Our New Hope Family Core Values Below:

_____  2.  GRACE - Show Grace. 

_____  3.  PRAYER - Pray Boldly. 

_____  4.  REACHING - Reach People. 

_____  5.  AUTHENTICITY - Be Real.

_____  8.  UNITY - United TeamWork. 

_____  9.  HONOR - Honor Servants. 

_____  10.  FUN – Have Fun.
